Windows on Arm apps and faster WebView2 updates

Microsoft is pushing harder on Windows on Arm, with new work to grow the app ecosystem across key workloads like productivity, creativity, and AI.

This matters if you are testing Arm devices for staff, because app support and performance will decide whether those pilots move beyond the lab.

The same update highlights Microsoft focus on Arm-optimised experiences for both developers and end users on Windows.

If your business is looking at lower power hardware or longer battery life for mobile staff, you will want to track which core apps gain first class Arm support before you commit.

WebView2 moves to a faster release cycle

Microsoft has confirmed that WebView2 will follow Edge to a two week release cadence.

This matters if you run or build line of business apps that embed web content, because you will see more frequent WebView2 changes and will need to keep testing and update plans tight.

Microsoft says the new cadence is aimed at getting security fixes, performance updates, and new features into WebView2 apps more quickly.

IT teams that manage packaged apps using WebView2 should review their change windows and consider how they will handle faster browser engine updates on shared machines.
